Alan Alda worked hard creating this show, based
somewhat on his own family life. It was all about
the Platt family, a middle-class group living in
the suburbs of New Jersey. George worked as a
lawyer in New York. He and Liz had three kids:
Muff, Andrea, and Kenny. There were conflicts,
but there was also support and understanding.
Not on CBS's part, however; they canceled
the show after only two months.
